Update KNOCKDOWN Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#0113; 02:10AM; 771 E Pico Bl; https://bit.ly/47AXnwx; Downtown; 109 LAFD Firefighters took 1 hour 38 minutes to extinguish flames within the 2 occupied units of the 1 story commercial building located in the area of downtown Los Angeles known as the Fashion District. Though intense flames caused structural compromise throughout the involved commercial structures, firefighters kept the blaze confined with no extension into neighboring businesses. No injuries reported. Structure Fire; INC#0113; 02:10AM; 771 E Pico Bl; https://bit.ly/47AXnwx; Downtown; Initial reports state dumpster in alley exposing 1 story commercial. Units arrived to find heavy smoke coming from 2 units in 1 story row of commercial occupancies. Companies began an aggressive offensive attack of the fire, with firefighters on the roof stating heavy fire coming from all cut ventilation holes. Reported to be a fire in a dumpster in the apartment building garage. Flames were held in check by fire sprinklers. Unknown cause of fire. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire - FATALITY; INC#1897; 11:40PM; 10905 N Scoville Av; https://bit.ly/4qWaFN5; Sunland; KNOCKDOWN: The first arriving 36 firefighters extinguished the fire in 30 minutes. Upon LAFD arrival, there were reports of trapped elderly occupants. During the fire attack, crews located one person and conducted a rapid transport to the hospital (condition unknown). Two additional patients were located but were beyond medical help and determined deceased on scene. (age and gender unknown at this time). Identification and cause of death will be determined by County of LA Medical Examiner and LAPD.
