Approximately 54 firefighters extinguished the fire within 17 minutes of the 911 call. Arson, the Department of Building and Safety, LAPD, Department of Transportation all notified. An arson unit is enroute and the LAPD Incident# 3519. No firefighter injuries and no patients reported. Cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. All trains are stopped in both directions. First arriving units found one individual that was determined deceased at the scene. No extrication was needed for the individual. An investigation is being conducted and LAFD is checking the train for any possible additional patients. No additional patients found at this time. LAPD Incident# 2973. The building is a vacant building and is a previous burned building. Firefighters are operating in the offensive mode. The Department of Transportation is notified for traffic control. LAPD has been notified for crowd control. LAPD Incident # 1768. LUCAS IC also requesting Department of Water and Power for unhoused individuals tapping into power of the building .
