Update FINAL UPDATE | PALOS INCIDENT Structure Fire; INC#1019; 05:01PM; Knockdown was declared at 5:58 PM on June 25, 2026, this means the fire is under control and has moved towards overhaul. The Los Angeles Fire Department will continue overhaul operations and progressively release resources as conditions permit. Responsibility for the property will be returned to the building owner and tenant on Friday, June 26, 2026. Residents and the public should expect to see multiple emergency response agencies operating in the area until all remaining hazards have been mitigated and the incident is fully resolved. LAFD 6/25 5:30 PM: Due to operations related to June 17, 2026, building fire, an Advisory remains in place for the area east of Boyle Heights. Crews will continue to monitor hot spots and get all of the burned area appropriately bounded by fuel breaks, which involves clearing brush down to mineral soil. Update KNOCKDOWN | BOYLE HEIGHTS | PALOS FIRE ; INC#1019; 05:58PM; 1400 S Los Palos St; https://bit.ly/3YE3qNY; Boyle Heights; As of 5:58 PM, the Incident Commander has officially declared a knockdown of the Palos Fire, meaning there are no active flames and no threat of fire spread. While the fire has been knocked down, debris within the structure continues to smolder as crews transition into the overhaul phase of operations. Smoke conditions in the surrounding area have improved significantly; however, some smoke may remain visible as firefighters continue to access and extinguish deep-seated hot spots. Firefighters will continue applying water throughout the structure to ensure complete extinguishment. Drones equipped with infrared (IR) cameras remain in operation, identifying hidden heat sources and allowing crews to direct high-volume water streams precisely where needed. ; FS 25; Batt 1; Central Bureau; Council District 14; CH7; 14 18; Jennifer Middleton
