[MEDIA ADVISORY] BOYLE HEIGHTS | PALOS FIRE Structure Fire 06/23/2026 INC#1019

[MEDIA ADVISORY] BOYLE HEIGHTS | PALOS FIRE Structure Fire; INC#1019; 07:00PM; 1400 S Los Palos St; https://bit.ly/3YE3qNY; Boyle Heights; JUNE 23 UPDATE: Operations continue today at the Palos Fire in Boyle Heights as firefighters remain engaged in complex suppression efforts within the damaged building. Smoke conditions have improved significantly, and the surrounding community should notice better air quality as firefighting operations continue. The building's layout, combined with large amounts of foam insulation and structural damage, continues to create unique challenges and limits firefighters' ability to safely work inside the structure. Crews are working alongside local, state, and out-of-state partners, using specialized heavy equipment and high-capacity water streams from the exterior to safely access and extinguish remaining hot spots. Cold storage facilities like this have historically been among the most challenging fires to fight. While crews continue to make steady progress, the safety of all personnel remains the top priority. Although significant progress has been made, crews expect operations to continue as they safely extinguish remaining pockets of fire within the structure. We appreciate the continued patience and support of the Boyle Heights community as operations remain active.; FS 25; Batt 1; Central Bureau; Council District 14; CH7; 14 18; Jamie Stewart
