Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0282; 04:57AM; 16760 W Stagg St; https://bit.ly/47YiHxs; Van Nuys; One unit in a 100’ x 300’ row of commercial occupancies with moderate smoke initially coming from the roof. Firefighters forced access and quickly discovered active fire inside Unit 218. Roof and interior operations coordinated to ventilate smoke and extinguish flames in the unit of origin — knockdown in 36 minutes by first-arriving companies. Crews remain onscene to overhaul damage and assess adjacent units for fire exposure. LAFD personnel treated and transported *five* patients in *three* ambulances to a local hospital. Firefighters proceeded in the offensive mode, discovering a contents fire in one room that had extended into the home's attic. Knockdown declared in 21 minutes with 35 firefighters working on scene. Firefighters fully extinguished active flames in 14 minutes and ensured the fire had not extended into the walls or upper floor of the structure.
