Update Contained - #CoyoteFire Brush Fire; INC#1700; 10:51PM; 3650 N Barham Bl; https://bit.ly/39E4aLX; #HollywoodHills; The 100 LAFD Firefighters assigned, assisted by precise helicopter water drops, have stopped forward progress of the fire in just 75 minutes, holding the fire to the preliminary estimate of one (1) acre of medium-to-heavy brush. Those LAFD ground crews will continue to work with LACoFD Hand Crews into the early morning hours with hand tools to achieve further control of the fire's perimeter in rugged terrain. Helicopters are soon to be released from the incident. No injuries have been reported. No structures damaged. No formal evacuation. This fire was entirely within the City of Los Angeles, and did NOT threaten the AVA Apartments, Universal City / Universal Studios, the distant Hollywood sign on Mt. Lee, Forest Lawn Cemetery or the neighboring City of Burbank. An updated acreage figure may be available in daylight tomorrow. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is joining the battle in Automatic Aid, with the deployment of as many as 5 Camp Crews and 1 Helicopter. No imminent structure threat. Update Controlled - #WorthFire Brush Fire; INC#1104; 05:00PM; 22230 W Chatsworth St; https://bit.ly/3xyBH20; #Chatsworth; LAFD Firefighters have fully contained and controlled all active flame, confining the fire to less than one-half (0.50) acre of light-to-medium brush in the rugged topography of Chatsworth Park, entirely within the City of Los Angeles. While moving swiftly during emergency operations in rocky terrain, one LAFD Firefighter sustained a non-life threatening injury in a ground level. He has been taken to an area hospital in fair condition for further clinical assessment. No other injuries have been reported. The Metrolink Ventura County Line between Simi Valley and Chatsworth that serves Metrolink, Amtrak and Union Pacific trains, has been fully reopened. LAFD personnel will remain patrolling the fire line through at least this evening to prevent any flare-ups. Update Contained - #WorthFire Brush Fire; INC#1104; 04:11PM; 22230 W Chatsworth St; https://bit.ly/3xyBH20; #Chatsworth; LAFD Firefighters have stopped forward progress of the fire, and ground crews will continue to work on full containment. This fire was entirely within the City of Los Angeles and will be handled by LAFD. Los Angeles County and Ventura County Firefighters as well as helicopters are soon to be released. No updated acreage figure yet available. No injury. No structure threat. Though the fire did not damage railroad infrastructure in the Santa Susana Pass, out of an abundance of caution, the Metrolink (Ventura County Line) in that area (between Simi Valley and Chatsworth) that serves Metrolink, Amtrak and Union Pacific trains, will be temporarily closed until emergency operations are complete, and personnel have cleared the area.
