Two elderly occupants evacuated themselves from the structure after smelling smoke coming from the floor above (thankfully, there was no injury or medical assistance required). It took the first 18 firefighters 19 minutes to extinguish the flames. Firefighters confined the fire to the room-of-origin, preventing it from spreading to the attic or ground floor. The cause was determined to be an electrical malfunction.
