FORWARD PROGRESS STOPPED Brush Fire; INC#0997; 03:00PM; 18613 Mulholland Dr; https://bit.ly/3Oo7RXz; #Tarzana; Updated size of the fire is one acre in a very remote area of heavy brush/steep terrain. Seventy-five LAFD firefighters by ground and air, with the help of MRCA and LA County FD, stopped all forward progress of the fire in one hour and nine minutes. Firefighters are continuing to establish hose lines around the perimeter and fortify/improve fire lines. No reported injuries and no structures damaged. Cliff Rescue (Vehicle) - Fatality; INC#0624; 10:31AM; 22450 W Santa Susana Pass Rd; https://bit.ly/3QaD6qf; #Chatsworth; Firefighters found a vehicle over the side of Santa Susana Pass Rd, with one occupant (driver) deceased. One canine was located in or near the vehicle (appears to be in good condition) and Animal Services is responding to assist. Firefighters are conducting a wider search of the area, but so far no additional patients have been located. LAFD will remain on scene to support the investigation being conducted by LAPD and Medical Examiner. Unknown age/gender/circumstances. MOTORISTS: Santa Susana Pass Rd is closed in both directions at this location (which is west of Iverson Rd/The Church at Rocky Peak). LAPD Inc # 1774. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1302; 07:52PM; 12885 W Foothill Bl; https://bit.ly/44XEC3j; #Pacoima; Forty-nine firefighters responded to a large outside fire near a commercial building, and flames that spread to a 40-foot trailer. Firefighters extinguished the outside fire and the trailer in 32 minutes, successfully protecting the nearby business. One firefighter sustained burns to an extremity and will be transported in fair condition. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1769; 10:39PM; 22521 W Styles St; https://bit.ly/44NjTzc; #WoodlandHills; Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire showing from an attached garage, and made an aggressive attack, working from the uninvolved to the involved portion of the structure with hose lines, and confined the damage to the garage only. Crews skillfully prevented the flames from entering the living space of the home, or the attic, extinguishing the fire in 22 minutes (30 firefighters). Occupants escaped, but one animal was still frightened inside, but firefighters found the beloved pet and brought it out unharmed. One person was evaluated with a minor medical complaint, but did not need to be transported to the hospital. Hiker Rescue; INC#0973; 02:02PM; 7099 Woodstone Pl; https://bit.ly/44zlKrv; #WestHills; Firefighters responded to reports of hikers in distress, in the Bell Canyon Area. Two males and three females were located in a remote area. Firefighters made contact with the group, by both ground and air, to assess their needs. Two females were hoisted and transported by air to a local hospital (both in *at least* serious condition). The other three hikers were escorted back down the trail by firefighters on the ground to be evaluated as a precaution, but found to have only mild (or no) symptoms and did not need hospital transport.
