Firefighters located and contained a small 20' x 20' grass fire. All forward progress of the fire is stopped. Firefighters will be conducting mop up operations to address any remaining hot spots. Approximately 82 firefighters extinguished the fire within 87 minutes of the initial 911 call. LAFD rehab companies are on scene to assist with refilling of SCBA's and facilitating rehydrating firefighters. Arson will continue with the investigation and fire companies and heavy equipment will continue overhaul operations. [Extended Operation] Structure Fire; INC#0291; 05:37AM; 2122 S Long Beach Av; https://bit.ly/4yfizEP; Central-Alameda; Long Beach IC requesting Arson and The Department of Building and Safety. Initial size up was an Auto fire exposing a one-story 150' x 100' commercial building with smoke in the building. Initially firefighters operated in an offensive mode, but have now moved to a defensive move outside of the building. Fire has extended into the building. Firefighters will continue operations for the rest of the duration of the incident in the defensive mode. The commercial building had a roof collapse and made access to fire in certain areas of the building difficult. During the IC requested two additional Task Force's and the Department of Transportation to shut down Long Beach. The Gas Company, Department of Water and Power and LAPD also requested. LAPD Inc#0996. An exposure next to the fire building had smoke exposure, but no fire. Initially firefighters operated in an offensive mode, but have now moved to a defensive move outside of the building. Fire has extended into the building. Firefighters will continue operations for the rest of the duration of the incident in the defensive mode. LONG BEACH IC requested two additional Task Force's and the Department of Transportation to shut down Long Beach. Department of Water and Power and LAPD also requested. Update Stalled Train in Tunnel; INC#1659; 06:59PM; 3191 Wilshire Bl; https://bit.ly/44pKi7Z; Koreatown; First arriving companies found a train with 4 cars stalled before the Westlake Redline station, on the alignment right. The train was estimated to be about 1/8 miles from the station. LAFD companies operated in the investigation mode and found another train stalled. The Rail Operations Center was notified and the tracks were shut down. It was determined that the trains were de-energized. An evacuation operation commenced for both trains. An approximate 150 people were safely evacuated onto the platform. One patient was treated and transported. LAPD Inc# 4207. Approximately 51 firefighters assisted in the incident. Cause at this time unknown. First arriving companies report a 4 story center hall DBA Yankee Hotel initially nothing showing. Fire companies on the tac channel report smoke in the hallway and smoke coming from one unit. Updated size up from IC was fire in one unit. Firefighters operated in an offensive mode. No reported injuries. No exposures. Cause is undetermined.
