LAFD Unveils New Paramedic Rocker Patch
LOS ANGELES - If you haven't heard already, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) is proud to recognize our Paramedic members by unveiling the new Paramedic Rocker Patch. The LAFD continually strives to be a premier Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider in Southern California and a leader in EMS worldwide.
The training our members have received in EMS allow them to assist in mitigating everyday all-risk incidents.
Last year, our department responded to 384,618 EMS calls, which accounts for 84.48% of the LAFD’s overall call volume.
Members of all ranks who possess a paramedic license bring an added value to the department and should be recognized for their dedication in completing a rigorous paramedic training program.
In an effort to make paramedics of all ranks easily recognizable, the Paramedic Rocker Patch will be worn on the left shoulder of the uniform directly under the Department patch. All members who possess a paramedic license and Department Helath Services accreditation will have a Paramedic Rocker Patch on all uniform items by July 1, 2020.
"Through the wearing of this Paramedic Rocker Patch, I am proud to recognize our members who do so much for the people of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Fire Department." - Fire Chief Ralph M. Terrazas
