Firefighters Battle Fierce Fire in Abandoned Hollywood Hotel
The Los Angeles Fire Department battled a major emergency structure fire in Hollywood early Sunday morning, involving an abandoned hotel.
The fire was reported at 3:15 AM on May 19, 2024 at 1624 Schrader Boulevard.
It took 127 LAFD responders under the command of Assistant Chief Douglas Lewis, 98 minutes to extinguish flames that heavily damaged the large two-story building formerly known as the Cielo Hotel.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters remained at the scene through the morning to extinguish hotspots and assist with the still active investigation into the cause of the blaze.
