2019 Civilian Employee Recognition Awards

Friday, February 5, 2021
LOS ANGELES-

We are proud to announce the recipients of the Los Angeles Fire Department 2019 Civilian Employee Recognition Awards.

The Civilian Employee Recognition Awards proudly highlights our civilian employees who have gone above and beyond.

The Civilian Employee Recognition Committee (CERC) was established in 1991 to facilitate the recognition of outstanding civilian employee performance. At the end of each year nominations are submitted from the entire Department. The Committee reviews each submission and conducts interviews with the nominees. The final step requires the committee to perform background checks on each nominee and then recommend them to the Fire Chief.

While the coronavirus pandemic altered many of our plans in 2020, we found it even more important to acknowledge the selfless work from our civilian staff.

In the below video, Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas speaks with each of the winners and gives them the opportunity to share some thoughts on what this award means to them.

Our civilian staff has been and remains the backbone of the LAFD. We value their work and appreciate their dedication to the Department. We wish our hearty congratulations to the 2019 honorees and the families who support them in their work.
