Update COMPLETE Earthquake Mode; INC#0192; 05:27AM; internal:/; The magnitude of the 4:29 AM earthquake with epicenter in San Fernando has been updated to M4.2. The LAFD has concluded the systematic survey of the City of Los Angeles by ground and air, and is pleased to report that no major infrastructure damage was noted by our personnel in the City of Los Angeles, and that there has been no loss of life or serious injury that we can directly attribute to the M4.2 earthquake. With our survey complete, the LAFD has concluded Earthquake Emergency Mode and has resumed normal operations. We ask you to use today's quake as a reminder to be prepared. Earthquake Mode; INC#0192; 04:45AM; internal:/; Following the M4.5 #earthquake activity in the greater Los Angeles area (#SanFernando) at 4:29 AM, LAFD is, according to protocol, in Earthquake Emergency Mode with fire department vehicles and helicopters patrolling our ~470 square-mile jurisdiction to identify any damage or emergency needs. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1390; 10:11PM; 7010 S Denver Av; https://bit.ly/339Wzz0; Vermont-Slauson; The first 22 LAFD firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in one unit on the 5th floor (of "Progressive Home For the Elderly") in 18 minutes, while assisting residents with sheltering in place to avoid the smokey environment in the hallway. Firefighters are putting blowers in place to horizontally ventilate the 5th and 6th floors to clear the smoke. No reported injuries.
