Dept Building & Safety (LADBS - Unknown ETA) to an automotive dealership, where 4th floor (top level of auto parking above sales offices) flooring tiles have visibly buckled and shifted. No other structural compromise noted. No entrapment or injury. Pursuant to protocol, and out of an abundance of caution, LAFD has commenced the calm and orderly evacuation of all office/parking area occupants (unknown total) until LADBS performs a formal assessment of the structure. No escalating or off-site hazard has been identified. Update Civilian Fatality Structure Fire Knockdown 12/28/2020 INC#0315

Update Knockdown Civilian Fatality Structure Fire; INC#0315; 04:12AM; 5159 N Vincent Av; https://bit.ly/34R2f0P; Eagle Rock; 39 LAFD Firefighters took just 21 minutes to extinguish heavy fire in the rear of a 1,282 square-foot one-story home (built 1924). During fire attack, an elder female was rescued by LAFD personnel, to join her husband, who had earlier escaped. Both are being evaluated by LAFD Paramedics at scene for minor injury, As the last of flames were extinguished, one person - described as an adult female in her 50's (yet to be determined affiliation) - was found deceased within the residence. No other injuries were reported. Fire cause is under active investigation. Complete - River Rescue; INC#0256; 03:31AM; L.A. River x Glendale Bl; https://bit.ly/2WPwT6n; Atwater Village; The well coordinated effort of 75 LAFD air and ground responders, including an LAFD Swift Water Rescue team, took 65 minutes to safely rescue by tethered inflatable rescue boat, 1 man and 1 woman (in their 40's?) who were discovered by a passersby during a rainstorm, to be stranded by stormwater flowing 3'-4' deep at 5-8 mph, and standing uninjured upon a small island mid- L.A. River just south of Glendale Blvd. A location at or near which they apparently lived. The LAFD Swift Water Rescue team and LAFD helicopters have methodically searched the immediate area to confirm no other persons or pets are in peril. Update Rescue 12/27/2020 INC#1254

Update Rescue; INC#1254; 07:08PM; 22820 W Santa Susana Pass Rd; https://bit.ly/34ODrGH; Chatsworth; As an LAFD helicopter orbited the location, illuminating the scene with a 30 million candlepower spotlight, LAFD and VCFD ground responders descended a two-line rope system nearly 70' down a steep hillside to access the two young-adult males, who were both trapped within the overturned vehicle. LAFD + VCFD crews worked together with power tools to free the men, who despite the brief entrapment, sustained only minimal injury thanks to seat belt use. Both men slowly ascended the hillside with Firefighter guidance by grasping the rope. Upon roadside evaluation by LAFD Paramedics, one of the men declined further treatment or transportation, while the other has been taken by LAFD ambulance in fair condition to an area hospital for further assessment. There were no other injuries. Update Pesedtrians Struck 12/27/2020 INC#1241

Update Pesedtrians Struck; INC#1241; 06:45PM; 21056 W Ventura Bl; https://bit.ly/38FEzxr; Woodland Hills; 4 patients total, none with life-threatening injury. A 2 vehicle collision led to one vehicle leaving the roadway, striking an adult male (father) and his two young children (one was in a stroller) on the sidewalk, their injuries were not specified. No entrapment. The driver of the vehicle that did NOT leave the roadway, sustained a hand laceration. All 4 of the aforementioned have been taken to area hospitals for further evaluation. The driver of the vehicle that struck the father and children was not injured.
