Update Hazardous Materials; INC#1108; 08:00PM; 617 W 7th St; https://bit.ly/3ltkvWV; Downtown; The one LAPD Officer and one LAFD Firefighter who earlier became ill with blurred vision and tingling hands after contact with a combative male civilian at a retail pharmacy, have been treated and released from an area hospital. Though an early evaluation of both responders attire by LAFD HazMat experts detected the presence of cocaine, there is currently no information regarding other contaminants being involved. No other injuries among workers or bystanders have been reported, and no escalating or on-site hazard was identified. Update Hazardous Materials 10/10/2021 INC#1108

Update Hazardous Materials; INC#1108; 05:35PM; 617 W 7th St; https://bit.ly/3ltkvWV; Downtown; One LAPD Officer and one LAFD Firefighter suddenly became ill after contacting a male civilian who was or had been in the custody of a security officer at the retail pharmacy. Both responders, as well as the civilian (3 patients total) remain in fair condition with unspecified complaints. No other injuries among workers or bystanders was reported, and no escalating or off-site hazard has been identified. The LAFD Hazardous Materials Squad has been redirected to an area outside the receiving hospital, where all three patients have received a decontamination shower. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1184; 04:54PM; 6108 S Main St; https://bit.ly/3wBvd02; Florence; Thirty LAFD firefighters quickly knocked back the bulk of the flames from the outside and transitioned to offensive (interior) fire attack to extinguish the flames in 12 minutes, sparing nearby buildings from danger. Firefighter paramedics are assessing 5 patients with minor injuries only (3 from bus, 2 from passenger vehicle). So far, three have been taken to the hospital in good/fair condition. Another bus is en route to transfer passengers to for continuation of their transit.
