Park Rangers, have stopped forward progress of the three separate spot fires in medium-to-heavy brush to a total of approximately one-half (0.50) acre within the Hansen Dam Recreation Area. These fires were *different from and somewhat distant* to the fires earlier in the day (LAFD Incident #0840). No injury. No infra/structure damage. No evacuation. One adult male with burn injury was transported to an area hospital in serious condition. No other injuries reported. There are now a total of two LAFD personnel transported to an area hospital in fair condition for separate non-life threating injuries sustained during the earlier firefight, including the earlier mentioned LAFD Fire Captain still being evaluated for a sudden medical illness, and an LAFD Firefighter with a knee injury. One LAFD Firefighter is being evaluated at scene for minor injuries. Fire cause under active investigation, with one adult male person of interest now being interviewed at scene by law enforcement. One or more lanes of Soto Street will remain closed between Olympic Boulevard and 8th Street until LAFD operations are complete, unknown duration. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route.
