Buildings in this phase of construction are vulnerable and fire can spread rapidly, consuming the structure. No injuries reported. There were workers present and incident command will investigate for cause. Firefighters are setting up to conduct a litter basket operation (litter basket lowered via rope system from the end of the aerial ladder) to bring the patient back to street level for transport to the hospital in fair condition. The 9-1-1 call was received at 12:34PM. Knockdown - #SichelFire Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#0075; 02:55AM; 1773 N Sichel St; https://bit.ly/3NfULLk; #LincolnHeights; 120 LAFD Firefighters took 95 minutes in largely defensive firefighting operations to confine flames within a heavily damaged 13,500 square-foot two-story commercial building that housed storage for an event planning business. No injury. Firefighters will remain at scene well into the morning to coordinate salvage and overhaul a large amount of smoldering debris, with LAFD Heavy Equipment (Loader/Excavator) summoned to assist them, due to the physical instability of the 70 year-old structure.
