LAFD Firefighters are continuing their systematic search of the fire unit and smoke charged hallways for two missing pet canines, as they guide several building occupants down stairways to fresh air, and assist other residents in sheltering in place within their unthreatened apartment units. Two toppled power poles, a toppled street light and sheared fire hydrant, causing a large volume of water to fall upon the roof of an adjacent one story home. No apparent collapse hazard. #LATraffic: Closure of all northbound and southbound lanes of LaBrea Avenue between 21st Street and the Santa Monica (I-10) Freeway until LAPD and LADWP operations are complete, unknown duration. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route. Detours are available. Monitor traffic reports on news radio.
