Update Structure Fire; 07:25PM; 630 S Los Angeles St; internal:/; #DTLA Incident is a Major Emergency with 124 FFs assigned. Relentlessly working to open ceilings and track down the fire, crews located the seat of the fire and working to extinguish. This fire ran the open space above at least 10 (estimated) units, requiring extensive forcible entry and overhaul to extinguish flames as firefighters worked to find the bulk of the fire. The structure is poured in place concrete. FFs fighting the battle unit by unit while working to open up the space above to stop extension. No injuries reported. Update High-Rise 08/30/2017

Update High-Rise; 01:38PM; 10600 W Universal Pl; internal:/; Hollywood; 9th floor (fire floor) of hotel is under construction, no guests residing. When firefighters ascended the stairs to the 9th floor, they encountered heavy smoke but no fire. The located the fire in one of the rooms and it was being held in check by activated sprinkler system. Firefighters extinguished the fire and broke out windows in order to evacuate the smoke. During search operation, a (adult male) worker was found in the adjacent room and transported in critical condition. Water and smoke damage from the 9th floor down to the lobby. Firefighters working on all floors to minimize damage. One firefighter transported in fair/serious condition with non-traumatic injury. LAFD will be on scene for an extended period. While some guests self-evacuated, the LAFD did not issue an evacuation order. They were ordered to shelter in place. Any questions regarding hotel operations = Sheraton Universal. They will likely need to break a window in the fire room due to the building type. Coordination made to ensure no one put at risk from falling debris. Extent of water damage still be assessed. Firefighters performing salvage operations to protect floors below from damage due to sprinkler flow. One patient (age / gender ?) was located in the building and transported in critical condition (location found unk). One male firefighter being transported.
