Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0092; 01:39AM; 4646 N Nagle Av; https://bit.ly/3Qmwuow; #ShermanOaks; 47 LAFD Firefighters took just 23 minutes (2:02 AM) to fully extinguish heavy fire involving a 1,409 square foot one-story home. No injuries reported. The cause of the fire is considered suspicious - and was among several rubbish/debris/vegetation fires discovered nearby at the same time. The other fires were quickly extinguished by LAFD responders, before they could cause structural damage or injury. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#1905; 11:19PM; 13838 W Ventura Blvd; https://bit.ly/490sG3u; #ShermanOaks; 49 LAFD Firefighters took just 23 minutes (11:42 PM) to extinguish an outside fire that extended into and heavily involved a 3,000 square foot one-story floral shop within a block-long row of commercial structures. The well-coordinated firefight prevented fire damage to adjacent buildings. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is considered suspicious - and was among a handful of rubbish/debris/vegetation fires that occurred in the general area at the time of the fire. The other fires were quickly extinguished by LAFD responders, before they could cause structural damage or injury. Complete - Hiker Rescue; INC#1219; 05:21PM; West Of Bird Sanctuary Loop Trail; https://bit.ly/3PXa0sT; #GriffithPark; LAFD ground crews have successfully used a rope and harness system to safely rescue a 72 year-old female hiker, who was stranded in steep and unstable terrain, after she slid approximately fifty (50) feet from a trail west of the Bird Sanctuary Loop Trail. She sustained only a minor abrasion to one leg, and has declined LAFD offered treatment or ambulance transportation. LAFD rescue helicopters have found the woman, and are coordinating the arrival of LAFD crews who have hiked into the rugged terrain to perform a ground-based rope rescue. All service on that light rail line will be paused in the immediate area of Metro's Lincoln Heights / Cypress Park Station until LAFD operations are complete. The fires have been largely extinguished at 0.75 acres by 34 Firefighters in just 57 minutes. The cause of the fires is considered 'suspicious' and remains under active investigation. Update Structure Fire; INC#0692; 01:00PM; 10915 N El Dorado Av; https://bit.ly/3ZVxFyo; #Pacoima; The two female residents (one teen, one adult - undetermined affiliation) who were earlier evaluated at scene for smoke exposure - were rescued from the burning building by one of the first arriving LAFD Firefighters, who assisted them in exiting the smoke-charged structure via a bathroom window. Though the pair initially declined further treatment or ambulance transportation, they changed their mind in the hour that followed, and have now both been taken by LAFD ambulance to an area hospital in fair condition. No other injuries reported.
