Update - Major Emergency - Firefighter Injury Structure Fire; 07:00AM; 1280 N Vermont Av; internal:/; #EastHollywood; One firefighter sustained a non life-threatening hip injury while protecting residents from intense flames; He has been transported in good condition for medical first care; There are no civilian injuries; A total of 15 displaced occupants from the Mount Vernon Apartments building at 1269 N Vermont Avenue are receiving temporary assistance from the American Red Cross; Firefighters will remain at scene through mid-morning; Fire cause remains under active investigation; - Brian Humphrey

Update Major Emergency Structure Fire; 05:47AM; 1280 N Vermont Av; internal:/; #EastHollywood; Confirmed Addresses Pending; Firefight continues with 118 LAFD personnel assigned; The building of fire origin was a 2 story strip mall that had a significant fire in March 2017. What remained was largely the one story remnant, that was no longer in business, burning intensely today and threatening an adjoining occupied 4 story center hallway apartment building; Flames have cause some damage to two apartments in that building, but there are no civilian or firefighter injuries; - Brian Humphrey
