KNOCKDOWN Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#0249; 04:50AM; 217 E Vernon Av; https://bit.ly/4e2XGSg; #HistoricSouthCentral; *Corrected Address* One-hundred-twenty firefighters battled the blaze consuming a three-story wood framed building in the construction phase (and surrounded by scaffolding). The Incident Commander ordered crews to remain in the defensive mode, keeping all firefighters to the exterior of the structure. Although there were initial concerns of structural or scaffolding collapse, everything remained standing during the fire fight. Department of Building and Safety is responding for further assessment.
