Knockdown - Major Emergency Structure Fire; INC#1181; 06:24PM; 1306 N Highland Av; https://bit.ly/3ZamV0o; #Hollywood; It took the combined effort of 124 LAFD Firefighters a little more than two hours in largely defensive firefighting operations to fully extinguish intense flames that destroyed an AutoZone automotive parts store, and caused heavy damage to a pair of adjoining restaurants (Fat Sal's Deli, and Sushi Ajito) in an L-shaped one-story strip mall. No injuries reported. Though initial 9-1-1 callers described an "explosive fire" they believed to have involved a "battery" within the automotive parts store, the specific cause of the fire remains the focus of an active Fire Department investigation. #LATraffic: Full closure of northbound and southbound Highland Avenue between DeLongpre Avenue and Lexington Avenue, as well as a full closure of eastbound and westbound Fountain Avenue at Highland Avenue will continue until LAFD operations are complete. The other businesses being a delicatessen and a sushi restaurant. Update Structure Fire; INC#0457; 09:09AM; 427 S Gramercy Pl; https://bit.ly/48OUisX; #Koreatown; KNOCKDOWN: Firefighters extinguished the fire in 30 minutes. The building type is updated to a two-story four-plex with a basement. Firefighters located multiple lithium-ion batteries (scooters) in the basement. There are a total of four patients: one patient was pulled from the basement in critical condition and transported to a local area hospital, one was assisted out a 2nd story window down a fire department ladder and being assessed for smoke inhalation, a third patient is being assessed for smoke inhalation and the fourth patient is currently being assessed for injuries. The fire was primarily located in the basement with some extension into the 1st floor.
