Crews coordinated interior fire attack with roof ventilation, and all flames were extinguished in 41 minutes by 56 firefighters. Two patients were treated for smoke inhalation. Brush Fire - Now Out; INC#1263; 04:39PM; 1000 N Palisades Dr; https://bit.ly/3y7wORN; Pacific Palisades; Firefighters arrived to find approximately one-eighth of an acre of medium brush with approximately 10mph onshore winds. No structures threatened. Crews quickly surrounded the fire with hose lines and extinguished the flames by ground attack. No reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0026; 01:51AM; 2100 S Bundy Dr; https://bit.ly/3LqUtQ3; #Sawtelle; Firefighters arrived to find smoke showing from a one-story commercial building. For a portion of the fire, crews mounted an offensive attack, however as the fire quickly grew and put the structural components of the building under intense heat, firefighters retreated into the defensive mode and fought the fire from the exterior only. Ultimately, it took over 100 firefighters 81 minutes to fully extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. Crews will continue to work on steep terrain to monitor hot spots and get all of the burned area appropriately bounded by fuel breaks, which involves clearing brush down to mineral soil. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0123; 02:12AM; 4400 N Crystal Springs Dr; https://bit.ly/3VTBz9i; #GriffithPark; Overnight, LAFD crews responded to reports of a rubbish fire near Griffith Park & Southern Railroad. Firefighters onscene reported a covered storage and maintenance area fully involved upon their arrival, with 30-ft flame lengths extending into nearby trees. Though accessing the area proved challenging, crews were able to force entry and achieve complete extinguishment in just over an hour. Loss of the involved structure(s) and any storage therein appeared to be complete. No injuries; fire cause is under active investigation.
