Boil Water Notice Lifted in Granada Hills and Porter Ranch; 06:41PM; #GranadaHills #PorterRanch; The City of Los Angeles today announced that LADWP has lifted the Boil Water Notice in Granada Hills and Porter Ranch following rigorous testing and reporting of water quality results to the California Division of Drinking Water. The tap water is safe to drink. Impacted customers may now resume regular use of tap water but LADWP strongly recommends that customers flush their pipes by turning on all of the faucets one by one to let the old water flush out over the course of roughly five minutes. Water Service and Hydrant Pressure Restored in Northern San Fernando Valley -- Boil Water Notice Remains In Place; 10:47AM; #PorterRanch #GranadaHills; Though a BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in place, water service including FIRE HYDRANT PRESSURE has been restored in the Granada Hills/Porter Ranch area. With summer temperatures on the rise, LAFD has been keenly focused on mitigating wildfire threat in these areas during LADWP's repair process -- additional resources staged throughout the affected area have now been released. Update KNOCKDOWN Brush Fire; INC#0593; 09:34AM; 5600 N Woodley Av; https://bit.ly/3RG8PQg; Sepulveda Basin; A well coordinated effort by LAFD ground crews have confirmed all forward progress of the fire has been stopped. Basin IC has updated the fire footprint to be a 50' x 50' area of heavy brush in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Center. No injuries reported. No structures threatened. Firefighters will remain at scene mopping up hotspots and completing a damp bare soil perimeter surrounding the burned area. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Rubbish Fire - NOW OUT; INC#1744; 10:07PM; 5600 N Reseda Bl; https://bit.ly/4mflmaK; #Tarzana; 33 Firefighters in 43 minutes were able to fully extinguish a rubbish fire in a pre-existing basement having a tunnel passage. Specialized companies Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) unit along with Hazardous Materials unit were used in determining how to access, confine and extinguish smoldering rubbish fire due to tunnel passage. Specialty trained USAR firefighters were utilized in a possible confined space area. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1058; 03:01PM; 14833 W Tuba St; https://bit.ly/3Upfj74; Mission Hills; 47 Firefighters in 25 minutes were able to fully extinguish an outside fire that extended into single-family dwelling causing attic involvement. LAFD firefighters used a well-coordinated fire attack operation and vertical ventilation techniques on the roof to prevent further extension. Units will remain on scene for unknown period of time performing overhaul procedures to ensure no chance of rekindle. no injuries reported.
