KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1644; 09:48PM; 6951 N Corbin Av; https://bit.ly/3KQNr4Z; Winnetka; Firefighters engaged in an aggressive attack, with interior fire attack and rooftop ventilation, against flames consuming the 1,194 sq-ft home built in 1924. One occupant was found with burns and transported to a local hospital. It took 35 firefighters just 16 minutes to extinguish the flames. Red Cross was notified to assist with approximately five residents who will be displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1016; 03:20PM; 7357 N Loma Verde Av; https://bit.ly/3CVB70v; Canoga Park; Firefighters found heavy fire coming from a one-story single-family home, which had spread to one neighboring home (and minor damage to a detached garage). The incident commander requested additional units and divided the fire ground crews into groups to attack all burning structures simultaneously. Ultimately, it took 39 firefighters 31 minutes to eliminate all threat of fire in the area. Although there were no injuries, sadly, one family canine perished in the blaze. Update CONTAINED - #HansenFire Major Emergency Brush Fire; INC#1459; 11:12PM; 10400 N Glenoaks Bl; https://bit.ly/3q1x65g; Hansen Dam; Despite light-to-moderate winds, a well coordinated air attack combined with a relentless ground-based offense with firefighting handlines and hand tools by 124 LAFD personnel, assisted by two LACoFD Hand Crews, has fully contained the Hansen Fire fire to a total of 4 acres of brush, in just 1 hour and 39 minutes. There are no injuries, no structures damaged. Firefighters will continue to work the fire's perimeter with hoselines, hand tools and heavy equipment through the night to extinguish any hot spots. The flames, still driven by 10 MPH wind, have consumed brush on two fronts, including 3 acres to the north side, and one-quarter (0.25) acre to the south near *but not involving* the golf course.
