Knockdown - Structure Fire; INC#2279; 01:10AM; 10962 W Peoria St; https://bit.ly/3kpgy7O; #Shadow Hills; During a night of extreme winter weather with cold, heavy, wind-driven rain, 32 LAFD Firefighters took 3 hours and 3 minutes of relentless firefighting to access, confine and thoroughly extinguish stubborn flames, and perform salvage of household possessions from flames that extended from a basement into deep recesses within the the walls and attic of a 1,438 square foot one-story home, built 1934. Update Helicopter Rescue; INC#2536; 12:46AM; 15700 W Burbank Bl; https://bit.ly/3aPmUFx; #SepulvedaBasin; *Updated Patient Count* During a night of extreme winter weather with cold, heavy, wind-driven rain, LAFD ground and air responders came to the aid of four homeless adults (*3 males and 1 female*), as well as *four dogs and one cat* who were stranded in a remote area of land within the heavily flooded Sepulveda Flood Control Basin. An LAFD Helicopter landed to safely rescue the four adults and 5 pet animals, transferring them all directly to the LAFD Air Operations facility at Van Nuys Airport, where they were medically evaluated by LAFD Paramedics. Two of the adults (no further details) were determined to be suffering from hypothermia and were transported to an area hospital. The two remaining adults declined offered ambulance transportation, and took possession of the five animals, which appeared uninjured. Fatality Traffic Collision 02/24/2023 INC#1230

Fatality Traffic Collision; INC#1230; 03:10PM; 6340 W La Tuna Canyon Rd; https://bit.ly/3IPuAce; #Tujunga; PRELIM: Solo vehicle with three adult male occupants (unknown affiliation) partially into a largely dry (only 6" storm water) narrow (4' wide) flood control channel. One of the men sustained fatal injury when he was ejected into the narrow channel, and remains at scene. Two two other men self-evacuated the vehicle prior to LAFD arrival, and later accepted ambulance transport to a regional hospital for examination of non-life threatening injuries. LAFD's Heavy Rescue unit removed the vehicle from above the flood control channel. No other injuries reported.
