A third patient, the 43 year old male driver of the semi-truck, has declined offered ambulance transportation. Update Hazardous Materials; INC#0474; 09:11AM; 920 W Harry Bridges Bl; https://bit.ly/41MWiis; Wilmington; City and Port officials worked cooperatively with the terminal operator to safely access and contain the situation, while monitoring local air quality, LAFD HazMat units made entry into the container and positively identified the substance to be Sodium Hydroxide. LAFD has determined the situation static and will be turning the scene over to the terminal, and LA Port PD, who is coordinating with LA County Health HazMat and LAFD CUPA unit for safe removal of the container and disposal of the contents. Situational Awareness - Smoke north of LA City ; 12:31PM; For Your Situational Awareness Only - Fire type: Wildfire Fire name: Crown A new wildfire was reported today at 11:20 a.m. in Los Angeles County, California. Crown Fire has been burning on private land. At this time, the containment status is unknown and the cause of the fire remains undetermined. Situation Static Hazardous Materials 04/03/2026 INC#0474

Update Situation Static Hazardous Materials; INC#0474; 09:11AM; 920 W Harry Bridges Bl; https://bit.ly/41MWiis; Wilmington; The 40 foot shipping container on a trailer located within a shipping yard has been isolated by LAFD HazMat units. A 500 foot isolation zone has been established, as well as a 1000 foot safety perimeter. The substance in question is believed to be Sodium Hydroxide per the placard on the container. This product poses no health hazard other than a topical irritation when touched. There is no airborne threat associated with this product. LAPD HazMat units are en route to the scene to assist in opening the container to confirm the type of product, assess additional risks or hazards and begin off-loading of the contents. LAFD is in Unified Command with LA Port PD. All railway operations are continuing in the area.
