Update Hazardous Materials; INC#0474; 09:11AM; 920 W Harry Bridges Bl; https://bit.ly/41MWiis; Wilmington; City and Port officials worked cooperatively with the terminal operator to safely access and contain the situation, while monitoring local air quality, LAFD HazMat units made entry into the container and positively identified the substance to be Sodium Hydroxide. LAFD has determined the situation static and will be turning the scene over to the terminal, and LA Port PD, who is coordinating with LA County Health HazMat and LAFD CUPA unit for safe removal of the container and disposal of the contents.
