Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#1651; 08:14PM; 5555 W Manchester Av; https://bit.ly/3YL1hA6; #Westchester; LAFD Firefighters were summoned by an automatic fire alarm system to discover a blaze held in check by a fire sprinkler system within one 5th floor storage unit of the 7 story (highly compartmentalized modern concrete construction) "Extra Space Storage" facility. First arriving LAFD Firefighters fully extinguished flames (8:40 PM), and are commencing salvage, protection of building contents and water removal. The other two pet cats remain unaccounted for at this hour. No human injuries have been reported. No human injury. Four pet cats known to be in our near the residence at the time of the fire remain unaccounted for, and are the focus of a systematic local search effort by firefighters. Fire cause under active investigation. Update Forward Progress Stopped Brush Fire; INC#1119; 03:39PM; 11800 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/3MbD12t; #Sylmar; Despite varied wind, well coordinated LAFD ground and air operations have stopped forward progress of the fire at 4.5 (four-and-one-half) acres of grass and light-to-medium brush east of and adjacent to the northbound Golden State (I-5) Freeway north of San Fernando Mission Boulevard. No injury. No structures involved. No evacuation. Laurel Canyon Boulevard will remain closed in the immediate area of the fire until LAFD operations are complete. No ETO. Travelers should avoid surface streets in the immediate area and consider an alternate route. Update Multi-Patient Traffic Collision 08/19/2024 INC#0905

Update Multi-Patient Traffic Collision; INC#0905; 01:55PM; 11000 W Victory Bl; https://bit.ly/3WP1y2l; #NorthHollywood; Two vehicle collision at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Vineland Avenue. One vehicle struck a 22M pedestrian (no bicycle) before colliding with a traffic signal pole on the northwest corner of Victory Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, which toppled onto that vehicle, trapping the two occupants (26M + 35M). The pair were freed from their sedan by firefighters. All three of the aforementioned patients were taken to a regional trauma center by LAFD Paramedics in serious condition. The 65F driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle sustained only minor injury, and declined treatment or ambulance transportation. No other injuries were reported.
