Crews made access and extended hose lines inside, while others ascended ladders to the roof and ventilated the steep-pitched roof from roof ladders (with hooks that grab onto the ridge of the roof). It took 30 firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. It took 18 firefighters just 9 minutes (3:38pm) to extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0869; 02:31PM; 17639 W Osborne St; https://bit.ly/3SR5QWC; #Northridge; Crews responded to a home on fire (which had both one-story and two-story portions) at the end of a cul-de-sac. Firefighters made access and extinguished the flames in the living space, and then worked their way up to the fire in the attic. Ultimately, it took 45 firefighters 20 minutes to completely extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. Knockdown - Greater Alarm Fire; INC#1521; 10:05PM; 901 E New Dock St; https://bit.ly/3DZwG6m; #SanPedro; 68 LAFD Firefighters took just 46 minutes in defensive firefighting operations to extinguish heavy fire in a 100' x 100' open roofed metal-clad industrial building at "SA Recycling Terminal Island" ( https://www.sarecycling.com/yard/sa-recycling-terminal-island ) a metal recycling firm on Terminal Island, at least 200 yards from the waterline at the Port of Los Angeles. The burning materials appear to be metal scrap and other debris, apparently related to automobile recycling. No injury. No evacuation.
