Update Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1130; 05:20PM; 4163 S Broadway St; https://bit.ly/3Zae6Cd; #HistoricSouthCentral; As a result of visible structural compromise that could lead to collapse of the vacant 150' x 150' two-story commercial building that was on fire earlier today (also the scene of previous fires), the LAFD has summoned the American Red Cross to assist with temporary accommodations for the nine (9) adults, one (1) infant and five (5) pets who reside at a residential fourplex just west of the fire building. Though the residential fourplex did not sustain any direct fire damage, it is within the calculated collapse zone of the fire building, should it fail. The City of Los Angeles Department of Building & Safety has again Red-Tagged the fire building as unfit for entry. Traffic Collision - LAFD Involved 09/10/2023 INC#0043

Traffic Collision - LAFD Involved; INC#0043; 12:35AM; 13260 W Van Nuys Bl; https://bit.ly/469viKp; #Pacoima; An LAFD Paramedic Rescue Ambulance responding to a medical emergency was struck broadside by a civilian pickup truck at the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and San Fernando Road, with the civilian pickup continuing on to collide with a nearby utility pole. The two adult male occupants of the full size pickup truck were badly trapped in the wreckage of their severely damaged truck before being freed by a team of LAFD responders. Both male civilians were transported to a regional trauma center in critical condition. The two male LAFD Paramedics were able to self-extricate from the wreckage of their Type I ambulance, sustaining minor to moderate injuries. Both LAFD Paramedics were taken to an area hospital in fair condition for treatment of injuries that are not considered life threatening. No other persons were injured. The initial medical emergency that the Paramedic team was headed to, was quickly handled successfully by another LAFD crew. KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0179; 04:13AM; 2311 W Fargo St; https://bit.ly/3P9VzBi; #SilverLake; Firefighters encountered heavy fire and excessive storage conditions inside the two-story hillside home. As the incident progressed, crews observed structural weakening and were forced to retreat into defensive mode. Once outside, the structure sustained a partial roof collapse. It took 90 firefighters 35 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames. No reported injuries.
