COMPLETE - Hazardous Materials Investigation.; INC#0868; 02:30PM; 437 N Vermont Av; https://bit.ly/4cXCTzu; #EastHollywood; LAFD personnel, including hazardous materials specialists, secured the scene and abated hazards while awaiting the return of a civilian contractor who had formally serviced the leaking ~500 gallon stationary propane tank less than 24 hours prior. The leak - which reportedly involved a valve at or near the top of the tank, was readily secured by the contractor, without fire or injury. No ongoing hazard has been identified. All occupants of the two nearest (State office and American Career College) buildings have been allowed to return and/or end their shelter-in-place status. The closure of Vermont Avenue (northbound and southbound) between Rosewood Avenue and Oakwood Avenue is no longer in effect.
