KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0926; 01:42PM; 17120 W Rinaldi St; https://bit.ly/3D8nOOE; Granada Hills; It took 24 firefighters just 13 minutes to extinguish a well involved fire in a detached garage. A paramedic ambulance driving down the road noticed smoke in the area and found the garage completely engulfed in flames. Thanks to the rapid work of all LAFD resources, the fire was contained to the garage and no other structures were damaged. No injuries were reported and no patients were transported as a result of this incident. Cause TBD. Chemical Spill 12/07/2024 INC#0740

Chemical Spill; INC#0740; 12:00PM; 8250 N Woodley Av; https://bit.ly/3ZtvySu; Van Nuys; Employees of the Van Nuys Anheuser-Busch facility reported a fire involving hazardous materials. Initial crews found a partially extinguished fire involving a large container of an unknown chemical near the production facility. Crews further extinguished the fire without incident. Further investigation revealed approximately 10 gallons of Hydrogen Peroxide were involved in the fire. LAFD HAZMAT Squads are on-scene evaluating the spill and performing air monitoring. All individuals in the area have been evacuated as a precaution. Due to an inability to access the decedent by ground, an LAFD helicopter crew will perform a local short-haul hoist operation. Agency Assist; INC#0176; 03:21AM; 1249 Pier F Ave; https://bit.ly/4gl0TxB; #LongBeach; Regional public safety agencies are on scene in Unified Command working an incident in which we received reports regarding a missing diver in the Port of Long Beach. The missing diver, a male in late 20’s is an off-duty LAFD firefighter. He was last seen on Wednesday night, December 4th, when he went recreational diving with friends. He was not involved with any fire department related duties at the time of his disappearance. The Long Beach Fire Department, Los Angeles City Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard, Los Angeles County Fire Department, the Los Angeles Port Police and Long Beach Police, continue to work together through established mutual aid plans to ensure a thorough search is conducted. Search operations will continue in and around the area where the diver was last seen. The focus of the mission continues on the search for the missing man, and the safety and support of those still actively searching for him. We kindly ask for the public’s patience and understanding as we work to confirm additional information.
