Crews quickly snuffed out the small fire, and will remain on scene to evacuate the smoke from the building using blowers. No reported injuries. Due to the location and access issues it took firefighters 81 minutes (4:42am) to extinguish the flames. LAFD Air Operations provided critical water drops to keep it from growing while ground crews gained access. No reported injuries. KNOCKDOWN #CahuengaFire Brush Fire; INC#0849; 03:10PM; 2699 N Cahuenga Bl; https://bit.ly/3VMclet; #HollywoodHills; Over one hundred LAFD firefighters (along with four LA County FD hand crews) stopped all forward progress of the fire at approximately 3 acres (1 hour 52 minutes from the time of alarm). Fire Helicopters made strategic water drops on the head of the fire, while ground crews developed progressive hose lays around both flanks of the fire. Crews have now established a containment perimeter, and will remain on scene into the evening to cool down hot spots within the burn footprint and improve containment lines. No reported injuries. No structures damaged. Crews continue to impede the progress of the fire, by ground and air. LA County FD There are currently no structures threatened and no evacuation orders. Crews cut holes in the roof and breached the ceiling to gain attic access with hose lines from above and below. It took 32 firefighters 44 minutes to extinguish the stubborn flames throughout the attic. No reported injury.
