A 10,614 sq-ft auto body parts business is engulfed in flames. Firefighters initially made interior access, and cut holes in the roof to ventilate the fire. As the blaze continued to grow, firefighters were ordered off the roof and out of the building to assume a defensive posture. Companies continue to attack the fire with heavy streams (aerial ladder pipe, portable monitor, 2-1/2" hand lines, etc), as they evade electrical wires that have come down in front of the building. Civilian Fatality Structure Fire; INC#0992; 03:16PM; 7821 N Bakman Av; http://bit.ly/2N1Crqd; Sun Valley; PRELIM: Fire to rear of a 1,569 square-foot one-story home extended into the structure, and was extinguished by the first arriving 20 LAFD firefighters in just 21 minutes. Discovered within the structure was an (adult female?) beyond medical help, who was determined to be dead, and remains at the scene. Though Santa Ana wind conditions were present at the time of the blaze, the role of the winds, if any, have yet to be determined for a fire that is formally categorized as "under active investigation".
