Branch 1 is the original fire unit (8839 Cedros), Branch 2 is the exposure (8849 Cedros) with fire in two units. Crews are actively engaged in fire attack in both buildings and are making progress. Firefighters are also working on any necessary evacuation vs sheltering in place for building occupants. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0459; 09:47AM; 7708 N Geyser Av; https://bit.ly/3e6nEZe; Reseda; Using a well-coordinated approach between interior fire attack and rooftop (vertical) ventilation, the first 26 LAFD firefighters quickly extinguished a one-room fire inside of a one-story home in 18 minutes. Primary and secondary searches of the structure were clear (no patients found). Sadly, one apparent family pet (feline) perished. No reported injuries (humans). Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1012; 04:08PM; 17638 W Raymer St; https://bit.ly/3uR2iVG; Northridge; An outside fire that spread into ornamental vegetation in a Northridge neighborhood threatened homes. LAFD quickly responded with 28 firefighters, who skillfully protected the homes from the encroaching flames, and extinguished the fire in 30 minutes (one empty out building sustained minor damage). There were no reported injuries. Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1092; 05:34PM; 4531 N Sepulveda Bl; https://bit.ly/3bO8Yvm; Sherman Oaks; This Greater Alarm Structure Fire was held to the unit of origin (which was fully involved with fire) by 70 firefighters. With an interior and rooftop attack, firefighters boldly battled to defend adjacent businesses, which only sustained minor exterior damage, extinguishing the flames in 23 minutes. There were no reported injuries.
