All other resources are being released. It is unknown what the person was doing in the drain and does not appear to have any city agency affiliation. Firefighters are currently removing drain covers to try to locate the individual and help them find their way out. Structure Fire - Now Out 08/21/2021 INC#0732

Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#0732; 01:31PM; 14913 W Addison St; https://bit.ly/3gkBhV4; Sherman Oaks; First arriving 20 LAFD Firefighters took just 11 minutes from the time the fire was reported (at 1:20 PM) to confine and extinguish flames in one room of a 1,000 square-foot one story home (built 1948). Though LAFD responders were able to safely rescue two pet cats and a one pet rabbit from the smoke charged residence, one pet cat and one pet tarantula perished in the flames. The adult male resident sustained a laceration to his hand in an apparent attempt to rescue the pets prior to the Fire Department's arrival. He was treated at the scene and declined hospital transport. No other injuries were reported. Monetary loss from the fire is still being tabulated. Brush Fire; INC#1043; 03:00PM; WB 118 Fwy East of Rocky Peak Rd; https://bit.ly/3suqI6D; Santa Susana Pass; PRELIM: LAFD responding by ground and air in Automatic Aid with the Ventura County (VCFD) and Los Angeles County (LACoFD) Fire Departments to approximately 2 acres grass and brush and grass burning adjacent to the westbound lanes (north of) of the Ronald Reagan (SR-118) Freeway east of Rocky Peak Road. The fire appears to be entirely within LACoFD jurisdiction, in a Mutual Threat Zone at the border of all three agencies jurisdiction. No wind. No structure threat. Little likelihood of the fire threatening the City of Los Angeles.
