Firefighters successfully defended the neighboring structures. Primary and secondary searches of the structure were clear (no patients found). No reported injuries. Contained - Brush Fire; INC#0791; 02:21PM; 11770 W Foothill Bl; https://bit.ly/3Lo2Fiz; #HansenDam; Despite an ambient temperature of 100.0 F during a NWS High Heat Warning, LAFD helicopters and ground crews, supported by two LACoFD Hand Crews, worked relentlessly for 82 minutes to stop forward progress of the fire, holding the blaze to two-and-one-half (2.50) acres of heavy brush within the Hansen Dam Recreation Area, east of the Aquatic Center. No injury. No structures. No evacuation. Ground crews will remain at scene this afternoon to complete containment, mop up hot spots and assure complete control. Structure Fire; INC#0036; 01:40AM; 12250 W Ventura Bl; https://bit.ly/3dIDBY4; Studio City; FIRE NOW OUT: firefighters arrived to find an outside fire which extended into a 2 story commercial (in a row of commercials). Firefighters had smoke inside the structure and it took time as they investigated to find the fire which was located in the subfloor between the two floors. There was also residual smoke in the large attic which had to be throughly investigated to ensure there was no remaining fire. 40 firefighters achieved the knockdown in one hour and six mins with no injuries reported. The 9-1-1 call was received at 12:34 AM. CONTROLLED Major Emergency Brush Fire #LandFire; INC#0837; 05:10PM; 10018 N Sunland Wy; https://bit.ly/3y4NiXR; #ShadowHills; All forward progress has been stopped, but there are still active hot spots near the perimeter that firefighters are working to fully extinguish, while also improving containment lines. Hose lines are 75% around the fire and hand-cut lines around 100% (but need improvement). Official containment stands at 40%. The terrain is steep and is a 3/4-mile hike to get to the fires edge. This will be an extended operation to achieve full containment and mop up. This fire burned in the footprint of the #LaTunaFire from 2017 (which burned 7,194 acres). We want to thank the 4 assisting agencies in responding quickly with us to hit this fire hard and fast, keeping it away from homes and large animals, which are common in this area. No reported injuries.
