Update Traffic Collision with Fire; INC#1625; 09:42PM; 23120 W Mulholland Dr; https://bit.ly/3h45V8k; #WoodlandHills; Firefighters quickly extinguished the fires in both vehicles, but, sadly, the two occupants in one vehicle were beyond medical help upon first responders' arrival (less than 5 minutes after time of alarm). The driver of the second vehicle had escaped (no FD extrication needs) and was evaluated by firefighter/paramedics on scene. The patient is in good condition, but is being taken to the hospital as a precaution due to the amount of force of the collision. LAPD Inc #4443. Air Operations made early drops to keep the flames in check. It took one hour and fifty minutes to access these areas by ground, cut perimeter lines, and fully contain all spot fires. KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0278; 08:45AM; 6261 N Laurel Canyon Bl; https://bit.ly/3m1G0hq; #NorthHollywood; Over 100 LAFD firefighters battled the blaze at an abandoned restaurant in defensive mode for two hours and five minutes. The building sustained heavy damage during an extended period of fire that weakened the structural integrity, causing a substantial collapse. Approximately eight other small fires in the same area (within the span of approximately an hour) are being investigated alongside this one by LAFD Arson Investigators, however there is currently no evidence connecting these fires. It is still early in the investigation, and Fire Investigators are working closely with LAPD to gather evidence and track all leads. One person of interest has been detained for questioning.
