Knockdown - Structure Fire; INC#0991; 03:09PM; 1838 W Manchester Av; https://bit.ly/3w0KN8G; #GramercyPark; First arriving 50 LAFD FIrefighters took less than 20 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish heavy fire involving a steel cargo container (impromptu retail?) alongside a 100' x 50' one-story commercial building. A bold offensive fire attack confined fire to the contents of the container, preventing direct fire damage to the adjacent structure that contained a nail salon. One adult male civilian (unknown site affiliation or circumstances) sustained serious burn injuries to both legs. He will soon be transported by LAFD Paramedics to an area hospital. No other injuries reported. All (unknown total) building occupants were calmly and safely evacuated from the structure by school staff prior to LAFD arrival. No injury. Though technicians were on-site performing 'hot work' roof repairs at the time of the fire, the specific cause of the blaze is under investigation.
