Update Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0985; 04:20PM; 213 E 12th St; https://bit.ly/3SKbN7R; #Downtown; 111 LAFD Firefighters were assigned at peak of the Greater Alarm blaze in what is considered the downtown Los Angeles Fashion District. Fire damage was skilfuly confined to *three* of *eight* adjoining businesses in the 150' x 75' row of one-story commercial buildings. Though the bulk of fire damage was held to the address of 213 East 12th Street and the two adjacent businesses, all eight commercial occupancies in the block sustained some smoke impact from the intense fire. No injuries have been reported. The exterior sprinkler activated and extinguished the fire. Crews are investigating to determine the extended of any water problems in the unit below due to sprinklers. Crews surrounded the burning vegetation with hose lines and fire breaks (created with hand tools) and contained the fire to approximately 1.5 acres. It took 52 firefighters 94 minutes to extinguish the flames. No injuries. No structures damaged.
