Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1002; 02:00PM; 113 S Edgemont St; https://bit.ly/3YWH2iN; Koreatown; KNOCKDOWN: 78 firefighters (companies still enroute were canceled) extinguished the fire in 21 minutes with no injuries reported. Firefighters located the fire on the 3rd floor and contained it to the unit of origin while additional crews checked the floors above and below for smoke and conducted salvage operations to protect belongings against damage. Firefighters quickly established hose lines on the roof of the building and contained the fire to a portion of the large solar panel array atop the commercial structure. Crews are investigating the interior to ensure there is no extension. Update FORWARD PROGRESS STOPPED Brush Fire; INC#1422; 07:45PM; 4926 E La Calandria Wy; https://bit.ly/4cmngAn; El Sereno; The coordinated work between LAFD Air Operations providing water drops and ground based firefighters aggressive fire attack stopped all forward progress. The four homes at the top of the ridge were defended with only minor damage to a patio cover in the backyard of one home. One of the threatened homes was under construction, placing it at much higher risk, but the decisive actions of the firefighters ensured it was not damaged. The fire was held (size updated via LAFD Air Ops) to approximately one acre.
