Update KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0897; 01:30PM; 161 S Burlington Av; https://bit.ly/3TbmkYX; #Westlake; Forty-four LAFD firefighters took just 10 minutes to respond to and extinguish the flames in one unit of a two-story apartment building. Crews made access to the garden-style unit with hose lines, and promptly extinguished the flames inside the unit, which was being renovated. No reported injuries. Though one home was briefly threatened, firefighters prevented any infra/structure damage or injury. While witnesses have described an adult male having possibly set fire(s) in the area and LAPD (Hollenbeck Division Incident #4468) was notified of such, LAFD is unaware if that man has been located or detained by Police. Update Knockdown - Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0985; 02:51PM; 1200 E Industrial St; https://bit.ly/4e45cwp; #Downtown; *Address Corrected from Kohler Street to 1200 Industrial Street* 110 LAFD Firefighters took just 61 minutes in defensive firefighting operations to confine and extinguish intense flames within a 5,800 square foot one-story industrial building. Though the building appeared vacant and secured, (yet to be fully determined) contents included pressurized gas cylinders (undetermined contents), that ruptured during the blaze, leading the explosions heard shortly after LAFD arrival. Firefighters prevented flames from extending to the adjacent three-story apartment building. No injuries reported.
