Crews are making good progress with an aggressive offensive attack on the second floor, working to save this building. It is a textile business housed in the structure. Reports of at least 4 units on the 2nd floor of the commercial are fully involved with fire. It is unclear what type of commercial business is housed in the structure. Update Confined Space Rescue 01/17/2017

Update Confined Space Rescue; 03:48PM; 755 S Spring St; internal:/; #DTLA LAFD rescuers reached the patient and 'packaged' him in the appropriate equipment in order to safely bring him back to the surface. The rigging to now raise him to the surface is being put in place, it has to be changed from the lowering system that was used to reach the patient. The patient is now alert and oriented and in severe pain for lower extremity injury and additional possible injuries to be determined by hospital staff. The LAFD is quickly setting up the equipment required to safely make entry into the tank and rescue the patient. This 'confined space' rescue is regulated by federal safety laws that protect both the rescuers and the victims to ensure it is performed without further harm. 71 FFs on scene.
