Structure Fire; INC#1477; 10:45PM; 255 S Hill St; https://bit.ly/3pSepAB; Downtown; Firefighters ascended to the 8th floor of a 16 story high-rise and located a fire in one unit being held in check by the fire sprinklers (reported as a vacuum cleaner which sparked and started a fire). While a few residents self-evacuated, the rest of the building is sheltering in place. There is only light smoke in the hallway. There will be a water removal operation due to the sprinkler activation. No injuries reported. The fire was located in a mezzanine above the office of a 4 bay auto/paint shop. Cause and $ loss TBD. Two additional adjacent commercial structures were successfully protected from fire damage. No injury.
