KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1278; 06:15PM; 643 S San Pedro St; https://bit.ly/3nAf4Js; Downtown; KNOCKDOWN: This incident is at the Greater Alarm status and the first arriving 40+ firefighters extinguished the fire in 30 minutes. The fire extended into and was contained to one side of the commercial building. A thorough search of the structure located no occupants. One firefighter sustained a non-life threatening injury and was being transported to the hospital for further care. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1660; 10:15PM; 1274 W Court St; https://bit.ly/44MppmD; Echo Park; KNOCKDOWN: The first 26 firefighters initiated a transitional attack (coordinated application of water from the exterior of the structure that provides a 'break of the fire triangle' by cooling the environment prior to transitioning to an offensive attack) and once they knocked back the fire at the front of the structure they made entry for an offensive attack. It is a small structure (not currently occupied) and no other buildings were damaged. The additionally requested fire companies were canceled enroute. The knockdown was achieved in 15 minutes. A thorough search of the home found no one inside the building. Cause and $ loss TBD.
