Knockdown was declared 23 minutes after 28 firefighters began working on this blaze. No injuries reported. Units are forcing entry and finding light smoke inside the structure. Structure Fire - Fire Out; INC#0220; 04:18AM; 1230 W Ingraham St; https://bit.ly/3F9EfLB; Westlake; 7 story modern style apartment with smoke and fire in unit 306. Fire was held in check by sprinklers, which enabled 35 firefighters to access, confine and extinguish the blaze in 29 minutes. Fire possibly caused by a lithium ion battery, which is prompting additional safety measures including air monitoring by LAFD HazMat units. LA Building and Safety is responding due to heavy water and fire damage in affected unit. Companies remain on scene for smoke removal, air monitoring, and overhaul of fire damage. Updated size up: Two-story, six unit apartment building with fire in one unit on the 2nd floor and some extension into the attic. Structure Fire - NOW OUT; INC#0134; 02:25AM; 454 W Mt Washington Dr; https://bit.ly/48ofdVa; Mount Washington; At 2:25AM the LAFD responded to find a two-story, single family dwelling well involved in fire with multiple exposures. Firefighters initiated an offensive fire attack but due to interior conditions, the Incident Commander directed a transition to defensive operations at 2:54AM. Firefighters extinguished the fire in 47 minutes. One 48 year old female patient was transported in serious condition with complaints of smoke inhalation. Sadly, one pet cat was found deceased. RS3, LAFD's firefighting robot, will be entering the compromised structure and providing extinguishment in areas not safe for firefighter access. While knockdown has not officially been declared, Incident Command has deemed the fire under control -- companies will be on scene for an extended period of time cooling hotspots and overhauling damage. One LAFD member has been injured (unknown cause/condition). Approximately 90 firefighters are working on scene.
