The size is estimated at 5 acres. Firefighters will continue with mop up operations to address any remaining hot spots. LA Co FD camp crews are responding to assist with establishing the fire line (all vegetation removed down to 'mineral soil') to ensure no extension beyond the contained area. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1853; 11:13PM; 1370 E 20th St; https://bit.ly/3NwgUnK; Central-Alameda; It took 34 Firefighters 26 minutes to extinguish the flames consuming a detached garage, and eliminate the fire that spread into an upper unit of a nearby garden-style apartment building. One firefighter sustained a lower-extremity injury (non-life-threatening), and was taken to a local hospital for care.
