Traffic; INC#0427; 07:38AM; 966 S Francisco St; https://bit.ly/42LbdLg; Downtown; Single car into a light pole, which subsequently caught fire; bystanders attempted to pull patients from the vehicle. Upon fire department arrival, one patient was still trapped and required extrication. Three total patients have been transported -- two in at least serious condition, and one in fair condition. Structure Fire - Now Out; INC#1342; 05:36PM; 517 S San Julian St; https://bit.ly/3pKnvzT; Downtown; Four-story apartment building with smoke in one unit on the third floor after sprinklers largely held a fire in check. Upon arrival, firefighters ensured all flames were extinguished and initiated de-watering and salvage operations to save as much property from water damage as possible. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1569; 06:36PM; 2201 E Washington Bl; https://bit.ly/46nfftX; Downtown; KNOCKDOWN: The active fire is extinguished but due to the size of the debris pile, smoldering hot spots remain. Heavy equipment operators are responding to assist in moving the debris to facilitate full extinguishment. The fire was limited to the large debris pile inside the metal clad storage building at the recycling yard. The building itself is not involved in fire. This will be an extended duration operation. Update Structure Fire; INC#0101; 03:20AM; 112 W 5th St; https://bit.ly/3vtI6Mb; Downtown; Due to excessive storage conditions found within the fire unit, firefighters need to remove large amounts of debris to ensure there are no smoldering hot spots remaining. Given the fire unit is on the 7th floor, it requires an extended duration salvage and overhaul operation. Additional resources are on scene to ensure adequate staffing to complete the work (18 fire companies and 5 rescue ambulances). There are no reported injuries. LA Building and Safety are enroute for an evaluation of the building and its ability to occupy residents. LAFD Arson unit is on scene to assist with the cause investigation. KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#0101; 02:52AM; 112 W 5th St; https://bit.ly/3vtI6Mb; Downtown; KNOCKDOWN: Over 100 firefighters on this incident (due to logistical needs in supporting a high rise fire) extinguished fire in a corner unit on the 7th floor in 50 minutes with no injuries reported. This will remain an active incident for an extended duration as crews work to clear smoke from all floors.
