KNOCKDOWN Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#0686; 11:51AM; 2311 N Daly St; https://bit.ly/44uCEXI; #LincolnHeights; *Corrected Address* Firefighters found a 100-ft x 100-ft one-story commercial building on fire. Crews made entry with hose lines, and extinguished the first-floor fire. Crews then discovered a mezzanine inside, which contained additional fire above. Ultimately, it took 88 firefighters 57 minutes to access, confine, and extinguish the flames (additional companies have been added for workload relief during overhaul operations). We want to thank the volunteers from our LAFD CERT program who responded to assist with hydration and rehab, to support firefighters as they work during this heatwave. No reported injuries. Agency Assist; INC#1284; 05:44PM; 5440 W San Fernando Rd; https://bit.ly/3sxR3oM; #AtwaterVillage; PRELIM: Metrolink Antelope Valley Line (outbound) passenger Train #269 reportedly struck one vehicle upon or near the tracks in the vicinity of San Fernando Road and Doran Street - at the City of Los Angeles / Glendale border, with the train continuing a short distance 'northbound' before coming to an emergency stop, upright and on the tracks. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle that was struck, was found walking nearby and initially appeared uninjured. The train crew (One Engineer and One Conductor), and approximately 95 passengers among the four passenger rail cars, have denied injury. As the incident location was determined to be within Glendale city limits, the Glendale Fire Department is in Command, and LAFD is an assisting agency. The movement of the non-critical patients to other facilities within White Memorial is continuing. The transportation is underway. The bulk of the 241 patients will be moved to the South Tower at White Memorial as only the Specialty Care Center was affected by the power outage. LAFD is able to release some of the rescue ambulances back to their respective districts. Any questions regarding the power outage are referred to White Memorial. A total of 30 patients deemed critical requiring LAFD ambulance transportation to a new hospital. Firefighters are bringing them down to the ground floor, assisting ventilations as required, for transport. The remaining 211 patients are non-critical and will be moved to a different building on campus (South Tower). LAFD will assist White Memorial staff, as needed, in the move. Any questions regarding the outage are referred to White Memorial. An estimated 30 patients are identified as critical, requiring transport to one of the designated hospitals. This includes some pediatric and OB/GYN patients. The bulk of the patients in the facility are non critical and can be moved to another building on the campus. Due to the power outage, firefighters must physically transport patients down from upper floors to awaiting ambulances. Initial focus on 11 identified patients.
